Compare Adjustable Bed to a Regular Flat Bed, Plus a Bed Commercial
The differences you find when you compare an adjustable bed to a regular bed are striking.
You spend on average about one third of your life sleeping, with most of it probably done in bed. And while you’re awake, you’d do anything to avoid discomfort, aches, and pains. When you’re sleeping though, there’s not much you can do if you’re in discomfort because you’re asleep, right? But for many people, spending that one third of their life in bed causes nothing but body tension, aches, sore neck and back, and headache, and other pain all due in large part to a regular flat bed. A flat bed sometimes does not offer the right type of support which leads to aches and pains and even acid reflux and breathing problems. The result is never getting a good, solid night’s rest. Sometimes you in fact do have the right bed, be an adjustable bed or flat bed, but you just need a new mattress. In the case of an adjustable bed, maybe all you need to do is discover where to buy a replacement mattress for adjustable bed to help you feel better.
Adjustable beds - like those made by Craftmatic and Flex-A-Bed - on the other hand, offer relief to these type of health problems. They come in many makes and models, and offer extreme comfort and can help to do away with lower back pain, neck tension, should tension, breathing difficulties, and even acid reflux. The big benefit of an adjustable bed is that is provides the right natural support for all the curves of your body. There’s an added benefit when the adjustable bed is on a base of air or foam because the mattress can then conform even more completely to your whole body. You’ll get a better night’s sleep.
With this type of bed, you can use the electric controller to move the head, middle, and foot of the bed up or down just the way you like it. It’s kind of like a hospital bed. Want to sleep in a more natural position to help relieve tension in your neck or shoulders (and thus reduce the frequency and/or intensity of your headaches)? Then lift the head of the mattress until it feels just right (do the adjustment while you’re in the bed). You’ll get better upper body and neck support like you could never get in a flat bed.
When you sleep on a flat bed, the surface presses on key pressure points that decrease blood circulation. Numbness sets in and you end up tossing and turning in discomfort. Not so in a bed that you can adjust the shape of the mattress. Elevate the lower half of your body to aid proper circulation. What’s more, you’ll breath better and avoid asthma-related issues if you also elevate the top half.
You can compare the different types, sizes, prices, makes, and models of these types of beds online. Some beds even have massage abilities! Also, be sure to factor in the sheets and bedding these types of beds require.
Here’s a funny commercial video from the 70’s for the Niagara Bed with Cyclo-Massage units! Yikes!
It’s a no brainer: Compare the adjustable bed to a regular flat bed to quickly see the benefits!

Being able to sleep in a softer hospital bed every night is awesome, I love playing with those controls!
Seriously, though, I used to have really bad neck pain in the mornings. I got myself an adjustable air bed so that I sleep at a slight incline, and after about a month my neck pain went completely away and has yet to return. Best money I ever spent, I tell you what.
P.S. Thanks for the funny video, I hadn’t seen that in forever!
Youre right its a no brainer. The only problem being is that when we bought an adjustable bed for my father, everything was all good until we couldnt get it up the staircase. Regardless however, if he wants to sleep in the study now he will be more than comfortable.
P.S. Nice video, i hadnt seen that before.
Despite the obvious higher cost of adjustable beds to regular beds, I think it is well worth the investment. I use to suffer from a stiff neck and back ache in the morning, but since buying an adjustable bed (although I was a bit indecisive buying at first) I haven’t had a single problem since.
Well worth the money in my opinion.
adjustable bed are fun but the cost of it is not. But I usually do dream of having an adjustable bed in my room. but the only thing that I don’t like in those adjustable bed is the line in the middle that makes the bed collapse. It’s really a pain when you lie down on that spot but pain usually can be cured for that matter with eft training and you can actually enjoy those adjustable bed with ease.
Good points, since we spend so much time in bed and a good nights sleep can make such a difference to the rest of the time we spend awake, it’s a wonder we dont put more effort and time into ensuring it is as good as possible.
I am keen to check out adjustable beds and also those memory foam pillows as I hear they can help as well.
