I’ve reached a breaking point: It’s time to remodel my bathroom. It’s old, outdated, dull, dreary, and lifeless. And that’s a far cry from what any respectable bathroom needs to be: A haven, a peaceful sanctuary, a place where you can get away from it all by yourself at any time of day, just to be alone, to read, meditate (yes, on the can!), ponder, think. Heck, I even go in with my laptop to do work, surf the Internet, and get caught up on my email.

But back to my specific situation with my bathroom remodel… See, spring is in the air, meaning it’s time once again to take a critical look at the house: The kitchen, bathroom, living room, family room, the basement, the garage, the yard. Spring time refreshes the soul, and spring cleaning refreshes the house!

Since spring is a season of renewal, growth, and change, I look at my house with a more critical eye during this time of year: What can I change to rejuvenate it, improve it, freshen it?

For me this year, it’s time to remodel my bathroom. It’s been on my “house to-do list” for a couple of years now, but I’ve finally reached a point of “no return” with this room. Every time I go even look at (let alone go in) the master bathroom, it makes me sick! Ugh! That bathroom needs to be remodeled.

If you’re planning to remodel your bathroom this spring, do what I’m gonna do and begin your research online to come up with ideas for bathroom plans, features, ideas, and budget considerations.

But here’s another important tip: In addition to planning what I’m going to do when I remodel my bathroom, I’m also paying special attention to what I’m not going to do.
