It’s Pi Day, On a Friday!
Today is March 14: 3.14 … which is the beginning of the universal constant known as “pi”! And so we come to know today as “Pi Day”. What’s more, today is Friday! So we have Pi Day on a Friday Day! Hoo-ray!
The real “magic” happens today when the time is 1:59 since pi, out to five decimal digits, is 3.14159. Geeky, eh?
Oh, I heard a stupid joke on a radio talk show this morning: Remember the mathematical formula for the area of a circle? “Area equals pi r squared”, where ‘r’ is the radius of the circle. Turns out, that’s wrong, because “pie are round, not squared”! Dumb, bad grammar and an equally dumb joke, but what the heck, it’s Pi Day!
Here’s a silly video honoring this special day!
